The Apator LOR4 reads a compatible Apator Powogaz MWN or Impero water meter and sends readings to a metering system over LoRaWAN or Wireless M-Bus. It uses an optical sensor and mounts directly on a prepared meter using the Click-On method.
Metering system features
- Two protocols in one module. LoRaWAN and Wireless M-Bus for an agreed data collection system.
- Optical reading. Data is obtained from a compatible meter register.
- Up to 349 daily records. The series product sheet specifies local storage of reading history.
- Autonomous power. A 3.6 V AA / SAFT LS14500 lithium battery is listed in the series sheet.
- IP68 protection. Confirm installation and permitted water exposure conditions in the supplied variant datasheet.
- EU868 radio. The stated range of up to 5 km applies to open terrain; check actual reception on site.
Water meter compatibility
The Apator compatibility table lists LOR3 and LOR4 for Apator Powogaz MWN and Impero meters in DN40–DN300. LOR4 is marked as an antenna version. Send the full meter designation and a register photograph to check the mounting interface and optical-reading compatibility before ordering. Cold or hot water use depends on the compatible meter version.
Data transmission and power
LoRaWAN operation requires a compatible gateway, network coverage and a configured collection system. The series product sheet lists OTAA activation. Wireless M-Bus reading requires a compatible receiver and an agreed radio mode. Stated battery life exceeds 12 years at one transmission per day. Agree the actual transmission schedule and operating mode separately.
Frequently asked questions
Which meters are compatible with LOR4? The Apator table lists compatible MWN and Impero versions in DN40–DN300. Check the register of the particular meter.
Is a gateway required? LoRaWAN operation requires a compatible gateway and metering system. Wireless M-Bus reading requires the corresponding receiver.
Does it support Wireless M-Bus? Yes. The series sheet lists LoRaWAN and Wireless M-Bus support in one module.
How long does the battery last? The series product sheet states more than 12 years at one transmission per day. Confirm the operating mode when selecting the product.
What is supplied? The radio module in the agreed version. Confirm the antenna type and package, documentation and accessories in the order. The water meter, gateway and collection services are agreed separately.

Installation and ordering
Check the full MWN or Impero designation, nominal diameter and register design before ordering. The module uses Click-On mounting directly on a prepared water meter.
Agree the antenna configuration, required protocol, receiver and transmission schedule. The module operating range of 0 to +45 °C is separate from the meter water-temperature limit.
Order the Apator LOR4 for remote reading of compatible MWN and Impero water meters. Send a dial photograph and the installation conditions for selection.
